Do you play World of Warcraft? Why is it so addicting?
Hi! I'm in my late 30's and I love playing WoW. I was telling my parents about it, and I think they'd love it. It's so addicting. I was wondering how many of you out there play that are near my age group or older... and why do you think it's so addicting?
Bah. It is entirely possible to play WoW at a casual level and not have it "take over" your life. I work full time, go to school and take care of a family, and I've played WoW on and off since beta. It's just a matter of being able to set your priorities properly in your life. Unfortunately, some people put WoW at the top of that list.
You know, about World of Warcraft. The fact that you can do so many things in there such as hunt, craft, and master the other Minor Skills along with trying to be strong and hunt with people makes a reason why it's addicting. The community in WoW has it's nice sides and mean sides, but the formula for an addicting MMORPG (That is what WoW is considered if you aren't much of a gamer, it means Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game).Decent Graphics + Numerous Events and Rare Items + A Good Community + Player vs. Player (the ability to fight against other players) + Balanced Classes with Unique Skills = AddictingA good community is key, so other people can tell their friends to play it, and the chain grows, etc. etc. Example, you are just telling your parents about this game and they might tell more of their workers about it. That's also why Blizzard got rich! The more advanced details in this is within a players personality. A hardcore gamer will love to level in something exciting and graphically great while a casual gamer will take their time partying with other friends, talking and killing monsters. It's more in how you see it as addicting. If you love to play it just for your friends, you're a casual gamer. But if you just love to level, level, level so much and be stronger than other people and love to Player vs. Player, then you could be a hardcore gamer. Maybe both? Haha. Here's the interesting fact. I'm only 17 years old! Ah hahaha... Sorry about answering your question and wanted someone your age or older to reply. To be honest, a lot of people my age will browse the Yahoo Answer forum and just type in all lower case with no punctuation marks. It bothers me. But anyway, that's just my two cents.
