Espanyol's Valverde bemoans transfer speculation
Espanyol coach Ernesto Valverde would like to see an end to the persistent transfer rumours linking his players with moves away from the club.
Goalkeeper Carlos Kameni is the latest star to be touted as a possible departure, with the Cameroon international reportedly being chased by Tottenham, while there has also been talk of Barclays Premier League moves for Albert Riera, Marc Torrejon and Daniel Jarque.
Valverde is far from impressed by all the speculation though, and speaking ahead of this weekend's daunting trip to Primera Liga leaders Real Madrid, he said: 'This does not benefit us. There is too much talk and it creates a feeling where it seems everybody is going to leave.
'What has to happen we will see at the end of the season.'
Espanyol are fifth in the Primera Liga standings, two points behind Atletico Madrid and the Champions League places, and 17 adrift of pacesetters Real.
