WILMINGTON -- After weeks of debate, the Lil' Wayne concert was given the okay, but moments before his performance, Lil' Wayne gave his own show the no go, and now the promoter may sue.
More than 800 fans were angry on Sunday night, and demanded their money back and answers for the cancelled concert. The performer waited for three hours on his tour bus in the back of New Hanover High School. Lil' Wayne's reason for not performing was the low ticket sales. Lil' Wayne said atleast 2,000 tickets had to be sold for him to perform. The concert promoter's lawyer says Lil' Wayne's past history with the law may have contributed to low ticket sales and threatens to sue. "Between the time my client contracted with him, and the time he had the concert he had these other legal problems, and it affected him negatively with ticket sales here in wilmington," explained Duke Lineberry, attorney for Mitchell Entertainment. Lineberry says the on again off again concert is another reason for the low ticket sales. There is still a lawsuit pending against the school board. Lineberry says although nothing is final, one thing is for certain, and that is fans will somehow get their money back
