Actor From 'The Wire' Stabbed During Brawl
An actor from the Baltimore based HBO series The Wire was reportedly stabbed in the chest and buttocks during a party in Maryland Sunday night (March 23).
According to The Baltimore Sun, Christopher J. Clanton, who played 'Savino Bratton' on the Emmy Award nominated series, was stabbed during a brawl which broke out at the Overlea Caterers Inc.'s social hall.
Police who arrived at the scene used pepper spray to disperse the crowd and when things settled, they discovered Clanton had been stabbed.
The 22 year old actor would be immediately rushed to Hopkins Bayview Medical Center where he is currently recovering.
“Mayhem broke out,” Clanton told The Sun via phone Monday. “I was trying to get out of the way. I wanted to get past one of the guys that was involved....It escalated from there.”
Clanton is expected to be released from hospital this week.
