Default Bottle Shock - my favorite film at Sundance

This is finally getting a theatrical release opening on August 8th. I saw back in January at this year's Sundance Film festival and thought it was a memorable, funny film with some incredible performances. Alan Rickman and Bill Pullman particularly stand out. But look for Chris Pine to also get some more attention after this is released. Check it out if you can. Great date movie.

Known about this movie months ago...Some say that the some of the main facts were abit distorted on this movie. There is another one of the same subject that is being made right now. I think its called "Judgement in Paris". That one was abit more factual from what I hear.

As far as Sideways goes, wine was the backdrop...The movie is not about the wine, but about the struggles of a couple of losers. I just loved the scene where Myles and Maya were talking on the porch. The way Myles described Pinot is how he was really describing himself...

Yeah, Mike Grgich got the shaft in this film apparently. He made the wine that won the Chardonnay competition, yet doesn't receive a single line in the film. It'd be like a hockey movie about building a championship team where the owner is portrayed as the guy who made it all happen, and the GM is completely ignored.

But I never watch movies to learn history. As long as the film is good, who cares?

I saw sideways and loved it. After watching the preview to this at *Bottle Shock, i am ecstatic to see it, and can't wait till it comes out. it looks funny and exciting, and looks like it has breathtaking camera shots of california wine country.

My wife and I happened upon it at the Maui film festival while we were on vacation and it was really a delightful film. I don't know how true they were to life, but they made a very entertaining and charming film with some beautiful cinematography...I was surprised to hear there was another person who helped make the wine that wasn't in the film, but I guess there's only room for so much in one movie.

Great performances by Rickman and newcomer Chris Pine. Just in case you were interested, they're having a sweepstakes on the website for a trip to be wined and dined in LA...looks pretty cool.
