The Day the Earth Stood Still is 20th Century Fox's contemporary reinvention of its 1951 classic. Keanu Reeves portrays Klaatu, an alien whose arrival on our planet triggers a global upheaval. As governments and scientists race to unravel the mystery behind the visitor's appearance, a woman (Jennifer Connelly) and her young stepson get caught up in his mission – and come to understand the ramifications of his being a self-described "friend to the Earth."

whoa that looked pretty sick, still not sure if its actually gonna be good tho. I think if they keep keanu's lines to anything less than ten word phrases with no conjunctions theyll be fine. I hope he plays a character with no emotional range, cuz he's good at the whole monotonous robotic persona.

I heard about this one some time back and thought it was just a cruel joke. This is definitely one sci-fi film that doesn't need a redux...for any reason...good or bad. WESTWORLD already got a remake back in 1993 under the title JURASSIC PARK which, unlike WESTWORLD, as you know, was only written by Crichton. However, I wouldn't think much should they remake FUTUREWORLD though.

Thanks for posting this gabtor
At least Keanu is playing a role where his lack of personality and monotone voice won't be a problem. Considering he is robot-like in life, I'm sure he won't have much of a problem pulling off this role. I can't say that I'm very enthusiastic about seeing a remake of this though, unless of course it encourages people to see the original. It will be a huge disappointment if they try to remake this in a big blockbuster hollywood style.
