Within the next four weeks I shall of paid of my existing loan with Halifax. I am going to apply for a new loan, hopefully a joint loan with my girlfriend.

I have heard that a joint loan often strengthens an application as its two incomes coming in. The problem is I have also read that a joint loan can not be given for un-married couples, how true is this?

Another thing is that I dont share the same address as my girlfriend, I'm worried that this may go against us.

Anybody with answers or advice, I would be most grateful.
