Default Can I purchase a second home with VA loan?
My husband and I are Veterans. Our home, which was financed through VA, is paid for. Can we purchase a second home with a VA loan? Or does one only qualify if the home is the primary residence? All assistance is appreciated.

You can get as many VA loans as you want, as long as you pay them off.

Yes Once your first loan is paid off you can once again use the VA home loan to purchase yet another home to move up and upgrade from your current surroundings.

Since we are planning to move to Texas I contacted the VA office there. They said we can buy VA only on primary residence and we have to occupy within 90 days. No VA loans for secondary homes.

What happens if you are paying a mortgage on a USRDHA program and want to get out of it or are forced out of it

can one get a VA loan to pay off the first mortgage?
