Default How to get six pack abs?

Hi Everyone, I have been trying these for months and months but it doesn?t help me anymore. I am talking about six pack abs that I am trying to get. I joined a gym for this and the trainer told me that I would get them?but NOOOO!! That did not help me and later on I have tried a few tips that I have been suggested by my friends but that also was of no use (the whole thing helped the abs a little?but not as I wanted). So, now can anyone suggest me any ways or ideas to get them

Thanks for any help!!!

I'll tell you right now that 90% of getting a six pack is diet. You can have big strong abs but if you have layer of fat covering it then its pointless! Gluck

You have to have a low body fat to see your 6 pack... Here's a test:

Tense your abs, and then pinch/squeeze some of the skin there... how much skin is there? a few mm, or a few cm? Too thick means that layer is hiding your abs...

sort your diet out which probably will mean eating less food in general, eating less fat/carbs, eating less calories and eating more protein (very simplistic view i know)

do more cardio and more intelligent cardio (try searching hiit).

six packs tend to be made in the kitchen and by doing cardio - there's no short cut.

Diet and cardio will get you a sixpack.

Here is my usual "ab" routine minus the main part of my workout:
3 sets of supine bicycles for 1 minute each.
3 sets of leg lifts, 25 reps
3 sets of cable crunches x 15 reps max weight
3 sets of cable frog kicks x 20 reps max weight
I run 3 miles, and swim 3km after.
or I ride a bike for 12 miles after.

Hi there,

I have gotten them...and there are a couple of principles i followed that helped alot. #1 (and this is the biggie) Your eating habits (diet) will determine how much fat you store around your midsection. If you want to see a well defined midsection you must pay careful attention to how much fat, sugar and carbs are in your diet and adjust these downward in proportion to protein intake. #2 Cardio with or alternating with weight training... burn the fat away.... (also drink adequate amounts of water during the day). #3 20 minutes of abs should be sufficient .... The abdominals are actually a single set. Crunches, leg raises, Ab machine crunches all work the abs... Conclusion: I found that combining these three concepts in my work out did wonders for me... In 2 months i saw decent results... and the less fat, sugar and carbs in relation to increased protein...the better results I saw... most folks doing an ab workout have a six pack... It seems to me we bury it under a layer of fat by eating the wrong things
