The third time was the charm for Kobe netting an MVP award this year with the Kobe III. Nike has reworked the Zoom Kobe III slightly to create a team shoe that resembles Kobe’s signature model. While bearing his name, this model is called the Zoom81 obviously after his epic performance where he put up 81 points back in 2006.

The shoe’s appearance has received criticism for being too basic, but for those who were not a fan of the web covering the entire upper on the Kobe III, this may be the right balance. In the heel the shoe sports Vis Zoom (visible Zoom Air) as opposed to Vis Air or Max Air like many team shoes have in the past. No word yet on pricing or release details, but don’t be surprised if these drop just in time for the new season in fall.
