Default Newbie Need Help with Linux

So I successfully installed OpenSuse 11.0, and it's pretty slick. I'm pretty much entirely a noob at it, though. However, I can deal with that. What I can't deal with is this: I installed OpenSuse on a second hard disk. I installed GRUB over the MBR of my main hard disk (a RAID 0 containing my Windows Vista setup). Of course, I can't boot to Vista anymore. A google search revealed several ways to add vista to grub, none of which worked for me. Any ideas?

Hmm. What problem did you have trying to add Vista to grub?

I think you can just throw in the Vista disk and do a fixmbr to let you back into Vista if you need to.

I got errors about it not having a bootmgr or whatever. I'm in the process of getting a recovery disk to fix the mbr. Assuming that works, will the bootloader know that Linux is there, or will I have to find some way to get that to work?

Vista has its own boot loader. For me it was easier to boot linux from windows boot loader than from grub.

No. The Vista bootloader will only load MS OSs AFAIK. You'll have to reinstall GRUB.

Thanks for the advice, here's what I did:

I used the recovery disk to rebuild the bcd. Then I used the SUSE repair disk to install Grub onto the root partition. Finally, I used a program called EasyBCD to add an entry for Linux to my Vista MBR.
